The content and implementation of the Code of Conduct for International Students in Higher Education will be evaluated in the coming year. The Board of your educational institution has received a letter on the matter from your representative body or the Code of Conduct office.<\/p>\n
The Code of Conduct stipulates that an evaluation must take place every five years. The NC conducts this evaluation in collaboration with the policy advisors of the representative bodies. The evaluation provides the opportunity to gather experiences from working practice and to assess whether adaptations to the text or implementation are desired. Any changes are then adopted by the educational institutions.<\/p>\n
The NC considers it important that educational institutions can share their experiences. After all, the Code of Conduct is a shared tool created by and for the institutions. Institutions are invited to share their experiences, areas of concern and potential improvements through existing consultation structures. In this way, the institution\u2019s staff can contribute directly to the evaluation and proposals for changes can be assessed for feasibility and base of support.<\/p>\n
So far, two meetings have been held with members of the Dutch Council for Training and Education (NRTO) and Universities of the Netherlands (UNL). A meeting is being planned by the Netherlands Association of Applied Sciences for Autumn 2026. The talks show that the Code of Conduct is very much alive within the sector and that there is a broad shared commitment to further improve and update it where necessary.<\/p>\n
It is expected that, in the first quarter of 2027, a proposal for an updated version can be submitted for approval through the usual procedures of the representative organisations. The ongoing evaluation will continue as planned. You will informed by email in due course regarding the approval and, if relevant, the entry into force of a revised version of the Code of Conduct.<\/p>\n
